ABOUT FARAGO TIWA
Farago Tiwa is a collaboration between Max Farago of Farago Gallery and Alex Tieghi-Walker of Tiwa Select. Independently, both Farago and Tiwa are itinerant platforms and galleries for site-specific exhibitions. What unites the galleries in Farago Tiwa is the celebration of the practice of self-taught and under-recognized makers. Principally, Farago Tiwa explores the possibility of directness and dignity in an art market driven by desire. The inaugural exhibition of Farago Tiwa “Everyday Rituals” opened in Downtown Los Angeles in March 2022. The group show connected visionary artists who followed a more unsuspected path to creating works, with pieces reflecting a momentous moment in their lives or a transition in circumstance, and featured Jim McDowell, Andrée Singer Thompson, Noel Guzmán Bofill Rojas, Louis Mueller, Sandú Darié, Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Gerard Petrus Fieret, E’wao Kagoshima, and others.
