FARAGO is pleased to present a new exhibition by Ben Berlow in the Los Angeles gallery space.
Ben Berlow’s enigmatic abstractions composed on found pieces of paper and book pages offer a subdued psychedelia in their palette and torqued symmetry. For around two decades Ben has been tacitly honing his craft: a daily practice that is an open-ended serial meditation on the modulation of watercolor, gouache, and graphite in a compact, uniform and intimately human scale. These works, while pulling from a wide range of art historical tendencies across centuries, impress one with their own distinct logic and expression—hermetic and sigil-like.
